It’s finally here, the end of 2017. It was definitely a year full of ups and downs for many people—personally, I found it a bit of a struggle. But I want to end the year on a positive note by remembering some of my favourite creative things from the past year.
Crochet. I learned to crochet when I was a child, but it was only at the end of August this past year that I taught myself how to read and follow a pattern. Since then I’ve made several things, including this cool plaid hat that I found here. I recently finished a cushion cover of my own design, that will be appearing on the blog soon.
Bullet Journal. April 2017 was when I started my bullet journal, and while I didn’t use it regularly at the beginning, I’ve been using it every day for the past few months. I think it is a great way to keep track of big projects and small tasks alike. Plus, it’s just fun to set up the pages and spreads for whatever I need.
Frannerd. She is an illustrator that I’ve been following on YouTube for a couple years now, but this summer my interest in illustration spiked and I watched all of her videos, multiple times. I even bought the planner she designed. I just think her work is amazing, and I can’t wait to see what she has coming up next.
Copic Ciao Markers. I picked these up in the summer as part of my increased interest in illustration, mostly because Fran recommends the Copic markers, and these are the cheapest ones. I love using them, though my skill is not that great yet. But it is fun to add colour to my doodles.
Project Life. I’ve been doing Project Life style scrapbooking for a couple of years, too, though I do monthly spreads, not weekly ones. Until this year, when I decided to start doing weekly spreads (or single pages) for every week since I turned 28 in April. The only reason I chose 28 was because I felt like doing it now, but I might continue for 29, etc. Of course, I am way behind on all my scrapbooking projects—monthly Project Life, weekly Project Life, and December Daily—but that seems to be pretty common.
Let me know in the comments what your creative favourites were for 2017!
