January 2018 Favourites

I know everyone and their dog is saying it, but I can’t believe that the first month of 2018 is already over. (Actually, if someone’s dog was saying it, that would be impressive.) As much as I was so sick of January by about the 20th, I still don’t feel ready for February yet. Oh well.

That being said, I have a few favourite things from the month of January that I’d like to share with you today, so let’s dive in!

I picked up some Winsor & Newton Brushmarkers and Promarkers at the beginning of the month because I wanted to try them out to compare to my Copic Ciao markers (and also they were on sale, hehe). I’m not an expert enough at drawing with markers to know the difference, honestly, but I enjoyed using them and I really love the colours I chose. So vibrant!

Yes, I’ve mentioned this planner—designed by Frannerd—a lot already. I even did a video unboxing of it. But it is so freaking adorable, and I love using it for my weekly planning and overview. It’s undated so I can set up each week as I go and if I don’t need it for a week—like when I go to Florida in a few weeks—I don’t waste that spread. I use the monthly calendars for pre-planning, too. Overall, I just really enjoy using it so far.

These two favourites sort of go together. I picked up this Leuchtturm1917 notebook in Nordic Blue a couple months ago and I’ve been using it as a brainstorming and notes journal, and this month I’ve really been using it a lot because I’ve had a lot of ideas to get out of my head and onto paper. And I’ve enjoyed using these Tombow Dual Brush Pens to add colour to my notes to make them pretty and easier to follow. A winning combo!

This sort of relates to the Winsor & Newton markers, in that I’ve been doing a lot of drawings inspired by one of my favourite shows, My Mad Fat Diary. Here we have The Gang (minus Izzy) at the chippy for The Debrief after the rave. I’m not great at drawing, obviously, but it was super fun to draw and colour with my new (and old) markers.

Speaking of shows, one of my new favourite shows—or, new in the last several months—is The Good Place. I finally started watching season 2 in January, and it is awesome. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the performances. It’s really funny and I’d definitely recommend watching season 1 if you have Netflix.

So, those are my favourites for the month of January. Let me know what you’ve been loving recently!
